Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC

I was invited on Thursday to participate in the presentation to the Steering Committee of the Spain Startup & Investor Summit. As I mentioned in a previous postis an initiative led by Maria Benjumea and by Juan José Güemeswhich, with the help of Liz Fleming, Paris De L'Etraz and Daniel Soriano, is being carried out, primarily from the Instituto de Empresa to put foreign and national investors in contact with entrepreneurs and new projects.

To revive, reactivate and reinforce the fire of entrepreneurship, initiative, risk and added value..

Listening to Maria explain the information that they are managing to gather in all these previous months since the idea was born, hearing about the projects that are being put on the table, seeing and listening to the different members of the Steering Committee during the meeting held and understanding what they intend to be the 3 days of Spain Startup, to be held in Madrid between the 9th and 11th of October, really represents, at least for me... pure adrenaline!.

Daniel Soriano explained in great detail the work they are doing with entrepreneurs and the selection they are seeking to make so that the projects are as ambitious and global as possible.

Pablo Santos was applauded for the success achieved in Bogota last week at the Colombia Start Up Summit, where they managed to gather 111 international investors around entrepreneurs, new entrepreneurs and start ups.

María Benjumea gave us some details of some of the international personalities who will be attending the Summit in October.

I think it is an extraordinary job you are doing. There are names that are really attractive and that I do not dare to reveal because I do not know if I can do it, but as the dates get closer and the general public finds out who are some of those who will attend, I am sure there will be almost "slaps" to be present and listen to them.

In the program they gave us for the three days, one of the things I like the most is to see who will participate in the closing. And seeing that their names are already written, it must be that they are confirmed:

  • Luis de GuindosMinister of Economy and Competitiveness
  • Manuel ValleGeneral Director for Companies and SMEs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade
  • Román EscolanoGeneral Manager of the ICO Global Fund

All three are very important and very necessary professionals, not only for start-ups, but also and especially for small and medium-sized companies. It is very important that the Government supports in a very special way, allows or makes available tools so that small and medium-sized companies can stay alive, can compete on equal terms with those of other countries, can consider continuing to grow, can continue to internationalize and succeed in the world. We need that support and those tools. Especially thinking about the companies that do not live off the BOE.

The inauguration is also expected to be attended by Soraya Saénz de SantamaríaVice President of the Government and with Ana BotellaMayor of Madrid.

My congratulations for this extraordinary initiative.

Pure adrenaline for Spain, for the Spanish Government and for the Spanish people!.
